About Me

Helping You Reclaim Calm, Clarity, and Control

I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist with over 8 years of clinical experience, supporting adults and adolescents to overcome anxiety, trauma, panic, phobias, and emotional life blocks—especially when these difficulties feel entrenched or hard to shift.

I work with people who are outwardly functioning but internally overwhelmed, and who want more than short-term coping strategies. My approach focuses on creating lasting change by working with both the mind and the nervous system, so progress feels grounded, natural, and sustainable.

Therapy is collaborative, respectful, and paced to your readiness. You remain in control at all times.

If you’re ready to move beyond coping and toward meaningful, lasting change, I look forward to supporting you.

  • New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs
  • Sri Lankan Ministry of Education (Education Service)

This experience has given me deep insight into stress, authority, performance pressure, and mental health within complex organisational systems, allowing me to understand how emotional and psychological patterns develop and persist beyond individual circumstances.

Publications

I have published numerous books and academic articles in refereed journals. I am the author of:

  • Feeding Anxiety to Your Kids: Exploring Parental Anxiety & Its Intergenerational Transmission (2025)
  • When Words Become Wounds: How Trusted Voices Shape Our Health, Identity, and Freedom (2026)

Both titles are available on Amazon and directly from the author.

My aim is to support clients in becoming healthier, more resourced, and more independent, so they can lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. Therapy is focused, purposeful, and always guided by each person’s readiness and circumstances.

My therapeutic approach is comprehensive and holistic, integrating a range of evidence-based modalities and clinical protocols. This allows treatment to be tailored to each individual, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

Many people arrive in therapy knowing what they struggle with—but not why it keeps happening. My work prioritises nervous-system regulation before cognitive change, recognising that lasting change occurs when the body feels safe enough to support insight and learning.

Therapy is collaborative, respectful, and paced to you, allowing change to emerge naturally rather than being forced.

Together, we:

  • Identify how anxiety or other symptoms are being maintained
  • Calm physiological arousal before challenging thoughts or behaviours
  • Access unconscious emotional patterns driving reactions and responses
  • Build internal safety, confidence, and self-regulation
  • Support change that integrates smoothly into daily life

You remain in control at all times.

To support progress beyond sessions, my services may include guided audio resources, practical strategies to use between sessions, written handouts, and—where appropriate—brief updates or guidance for caregivers.

My therapeutic approach is comprehensive and holistic, integrating a range of evidence-based modalities and clinical protocols. Treatment is always tailored to each individual’s needs and circumstances, rather than applied as a standardised formula.

My work is evidence-based and integrative, drawing from:

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy
  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Neuroscience-informed, nervous-system-focused therapy
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
  • Trauma-informed approaches grounded in attachment theory

This integration allows therapy to be both scientifically sound and experientially effective, supporting change at cognitive, emotional, and physiological levels.

The initial session focuses on understanding your concerns, establishing therapeutic goals, and identifying underlying patterns that may be maintaining current difficulties. The duration and frequency of therapy vary depending on individual needs; while some clients notice meaningful change within a small number of sessions, others may benefit from a longer or more gradual process. This is always discussed collaboratively and reviewed as therapy progresses.

I provide clinical mentoring and therapeutic guidance for parents, supporting them to strengthen their own emotional regulation and, in turn, foster resilience, emotional safety, and adaptive coping in their children from an early age. This work recognises that children’s emotional wellbeing is closely shaped by the regulation and responses of the adults around them.

In addition to individual and family-based work, I offer specialised training and consultation for corporate and public-sector organisations. These programs are designed to support individuals working in high-pressure, high-responsibility environments, where sustained stress, performance demands, and emotional overload are common.

Training and consultation focus on:

  • practical tools for emotion regulation and arousal control
  • strategies to reduce stress reactivity and burnout
  • strengthening psychological flexibility and resilience
  • applying self-regulation skills in real-time workplace situations

Across all settings, the emphasis is on developing self-mastery and internal capacity, rather than reliance on ongoing therapy. The aim is to equip individuals, families, and organisations with skills they can apply confidently and independently in daily life.
